Add Sophistication, Beauty and Long Term Value to Your Home With Hardwood Floors

Hardwood floors are a beautiful option for your home. Wood flooring is available in a huge number of versatile looks and even eco-friendly options. Contact your local wood floor dealer today!

Hardwood flooring is a stunning and cost effective option for any home. Wood floors not only create a polished look but also stand up to extensive wear throughout the lifetime of your home.

Versatile Look

As one of the largest surface areas in your home, your floor plays a vital role in defining the look of your entire space. The warm tones of natural wood flooring can unify and accent your space without overwhelming the other features of your home. Depending on your choice of wood you can create anything from a traditional, elegant ambiance to a clean, modern look. Choose from an array of wood selections including:

  • Oak
  • Cherry
  • Mahogany
  • Walnut
  • Maple
  • Ebony
  • Heart pine
  • Bamboo
  • Cork

In addition to the type of wood used, many flooring contractors offer custom inlays as a way to personalize your floors even more. There is no “one size fits all” option here. Your hardwood floors will be designed to speak to your style and will be instrumental in creating the exact look and feel that you want for your home.

Eco-Friendly

For those who love the aesthetic of hardwood flooring but worry about the environmental impact of that choice, bamboo and cork flooring fit the bill. These are two modern, environmentally friendly options for people who want the style and benefits of wood floors without taxing traditional timber resources. Both bamboo and cork are considered to be sustainable woods, so you can enjoy the advantages of wood flooring without compromising your environmental principles.

In terms of overall environmental impact, though, any hardwood floor choice recommends itself to those with “green” sensibilities. Hardwood floors are one of the only flooring options known to consistently last throughout the lifetime of a home – and often beyond! You will never have to clean these floors with harsh chemicals and, if they do start to show wear and tear, experts at wood flooring refinishing can refinish or repair them instead of replacing them.

Whether you are looking for traditional character or cutting edge sensibility in your home, hardwood floors lay the foundation for that style. Not only do they provide long-term value and beauty, but they also let you express your personal taste in a sophisticated manner that will last a lifetime.

Install Lighting and Ceiling Fans to Spice Up Your Decor

With a fresh coat of paint on the walls, and a newly reupholstered couch, our living room was looking and feeling great – by day. By night, we noticed that all our hard work was barely visible. The floor and table lamps just made the room feel like a cave.  After trying (and failing) various and creative ways of making a floor lamp in the middle of the room look aesthetically pleasing, we decided to call our local residential electrical contractors.

When we told our electrical contractor that we wanted a ceiling light, he was able to give us even more information on ceiling light and fan options. Living in New Orleans, we loved the idea of a light/fan combination, and our electrical contractor was able to show us all the various possibilities from track lighting, recessed lighting, and chandeliers, to dimmers and switches to the locations of all these options. Being an expert electrical contractor, our electrician was able to tell us what would work best in our home and where it could be installed given our current electrical system and the building’s structure.

Our newly installed ceiling light and fan have greatly improved the feel of our living room. Thanks to our electricians, we aren’t embarrassed by our dark living room when the sun sets, and we can keep everyone cool with the ceiling fan while still enjoying the view out the window–now that we don’t need a window fan there.

Be sure you call professional electrical contractors when choosing new ceiling mounted lighting or fans, as he or she will be able to evaluate your structural and electrical system to safely and securely install your new hardware. Your electrical contractor will also be able to guide you in the installation process and can help you in the selection process. Do not try to install a new ceiling mounted light or fan yourself, as electricity can be very dangerous, even to those who are familiar with it.

Filing Corporate Bankruptcy: What Happens Next

Filing for bankruptcy can be extremely confusing and complicated. To help you better understand what happens when you file for corporate bankruptcy, we’ve outlined the process below. For more information, talk to your local bankruptcy attorney.

In today’s economy, the word “bankruptcy” gets tossed around a lot… But what does it actually mean and what happens after your company files a bankruptcy. In layman’s terms, bankruptcy is when your company has financial obligations and liabilities that exceed your assets, making you unable to pay your bills as they come due. Filing for bankruptcy is a judicial solution for the debtor—your company—to seek relief from your creditors. The courts will determine if you are unable to satisfy your debts and, if so, attempt to determine a fair way to satisfy your creditors.

Filing for bankruptcy is similar to any other lawsuit: a bankruptcy petition simply starts the process, without guaranteeing any outcome or resolution. However, unlike other legal proceedings, a bankruptcy filing immediately generates an automatic stay, also known as bankruptcy protection. This injunction stops creditors from taking additional action to attempt to collect on their debts until the bankruptcy case is resolved. This stay essentially gives your business temporary relief and time to develop a plan for debt resolution.

As your corporate bankruptcy case proceeds, different creditors will be treated differently, but if or when the court declares your company bankrupt, the court will attempt to satisfy your financial obligations in an equitable and appropriate way.

Of course, just as every company is unique, every bankruptcy filing is different. Depending on the financial obligations, assets, and even structure of your business, your bankruptcy proceeding will unfold differently. Perhaps the most important question is whether to file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy or proceed with a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. The former dissolves your business, liquefying assets to satisfy creditors; the later involves reorganizing the business to regain solvency and profitability.

If you’re considering filing a business bankruptcy, now is the time to consult a professional bankruptcy lawyer. These specialized attorneys can help determine the right course of action for your particular company, helping your business achieve the best outcome given the circumstances. Contact your local bankruptcy attorney today—there may be non-bankruptcy options available for resolving your business debts!
